The Estonian Environment Information Centre (EEIC) aims to collect, process and generalise data on Estonian nature, state of environment and the factors influencing it. The Information Centre provides reliable environmental information for Estonia’s decision-makers, public both in Estonian and abroad, and for various organisations.

JahindusWild game is one of the available natural resource, playing an important role in our ecosystem. Process of hunting keeps balance between species and regulates amount of damages wildlife does. In case of majority of wildlife, hunting is not playing an important role in animal mortality, in case of popular wild game, hunting is a key regulator of their abundance. In order to avoid negative impacts caused by hunting on wildlife and economy, it is important to regularly monitor wildlife and their habitats and implement measures in accordance with the changes. In wildlife section you can find monitoring reports, hunting statistics etc. Also available are the necessary materials and forms for reporting purposes.

JäätmedWaste is generated every day in every field of human activity, and has inevitably become a part of our lives. To preserve the environment as clean and livable, organized waste collection and recycling is essencial. In particular, the generation of waste should be reduced, if possible, use waste for energy generation purposes and only as a last priority use tipping. Under this section you can submit reports and have access to the surveys, thematic maps and graphs.

LooduskaitseEstonian nature is varied and plentiful. To maintain the current environment, nature conservation measures are necessary. Nature conservation can be defined as a plan of operation and maintenance of natural resources or the ecosystem, to prevent over exploitation, pollution, destruction etc. In therms of nature protection, whole areas, species and individual objects can be protected. The most significant protected areas in Estonia are national parks, nature reserves and protected landscapes. In this section you can find thematic maps that characterize the populations of protected species or their state in Estonia and thematic charts.

MetsForests have significant ecological and natural value. Forests are also an important resource in economic terms. To preserve forests, it is necessary to maintain such a forestry policy which protects the forest as ecosystems and aims to manage it's resources sustainably. Forest management is sustainable if it ensures that biological diversity, productivity, regeneration capacity, vitality, ecological, economic, social and cultural needs satisfy needs of versatile use of forest stocks. Via section "Forest" can be submitted e-forest notification and to set the digital forest plan (Plan E). You can also find here national register of forest resource accounting data format. You can examine the statistics on forest management and forestry and forestry-related briefs on thematic maps. Section contains information about the persons conducting the work of forest management and statistical evaluation of the forest inventory.

VesiClean water is a vital component of life for both people and the entire ecosystem. One of society's priorities is to ensure safe and healthy supply of drinking water to all population. In Estonia we use as drinking water both groundwater as well as the bottom-surface water. In addition water is used in household, manufacturing, agriculture and many other fields. To maintain a usable water, it is essential to ensure necessary cleanliness and ecological balance of water. It is important to regulate the use of water and processes where waste water will be drawn to the water. This section is to provide water and waste water analysis reports. You can find here national and international water briefs, thematic maps and graphs.

Clean air is a vital element. Air quality are influenced by different chemical compounds like: noise, dust, vibration, ionizing radiation, non-ionizing radiation and electromagnetic fields. These agents result in deteriorating health and the changes are taking place in plant productions. Primary affectors of local air quality are local pollution sources and transportation as well as various radar, X-ray and radiotherapy apparatus and radioactive substances. Details of the main sources of emissions of the polluters are found under the section of thematic maps. Here you can submit reports related to air quality, overviews are available from national and international reviews of outdoor topics. Please see also air related graphs.
